High volumes of sawn timber at Stockholm Norvik Port

Published 2/16/2026

Ports of Stockholm has expanded its services at Stockholm Norvik Port with a modern goods terminal and bonded warehouse. Currently high volumes of sawn timber are handled at the terminal, which is used for storing and transshipping a wide range of goods.

The timber is stored and transshipped in an unheated section of the terminal. There is also a heated and insulated area, making it possible to handle and store both temperature-sensitive and conventional goods.

A large part of the facility is a bonded warehouse adapted for the Swedish Food Agency, the Swedish Board of Agriculture and the Swedish Customs. It offers ample space for inspections and temporary storage. Stockholm Norvik Port is one of only five ports in Sweden that has a border control for food. This saves both time and costs for importers and exporters.

“We are very pleased to be able to offer our customers a modern goods terminal and bonded warehouse directly adjacent to Stockholm Norvik Port. The facility is adaptable and enables flexible solutions and the handling of different types of goods. It is an important part of our strategy to improve and expand our service,” says Johan Praetorius, Marketing Manager Cargo at Ports of Stockholm.
