A new port facility has been inaugurated at Stockholm Norvik Port. The facility, built for NCC, enables the efficient unloading of large quantities of stone. This will free up extensive areas of the port that can now be used for new activities.
Approximately one million tonnes of rock, originating from the major construction work of Stockholm Norvik Port, have been stored at the port. Now, a new port facility for unloading large quantities of rock has been inaugurated. The facility consists of two pile bridges and was built for NCC.
The unloading of the rock marks an important milestone in the next phase of the port’s development. Once the rock masses have been transported away, large areas will be freed up for new activities. This creates opportunities for future leasing and serves as an important starting point for NCC’s establishment of a business and logistics park — an initiative that further strengthens Stockholm Norvik’s role as a growing logistics hub for Swedish imports and exports.
The new port facility was inaugurated on October 31. However, due to high demand for rock, 120,000 tons had already been unloaded via the port’s RoRo facility before the inauguration.
