Swedish and Finnish ministers visited Värtahamnen port

On September 16, Ports of Stockholm had the honor of receiving five Swedish and three Finnish ministers in the Värta terminal. The visit was part of the two governments meeting to strengthen the ties and relations between our neighbouring countries.

Among other things, the following topics were discussed:

  • The importance of ports and shipping for a strengthened competitiveness in the Baltic Sea area.
  • The port's role and responsibility for civil defense and crisis preparedness as well as cooperation between authorities in border security.
  • Combating organized cross-border crime such as drug trafficking.

After fruitful discussions, Ports of Stockholm offered a tour and demonstration of the terminal and port facilities.

From the Swedish government, Minister for Infrastructure and Housing Andreas Carlsson, Minister for Finance Elisabeth Svantesson, Minister for Financial Markets Niklas Wykman, Minister for Justice Gunnar Strömmer and Minister for Migration Johan Forsell participated.

From the Finnish government, Minister of Transport, Communications and the Interior Lulu Ranne, Minister of Finance Riika Purra and Minister of Justice Leena Meri participated.
