Thomas Andersson becomes Ports of Stockholm Managing Director

On 1st December Thomas Andersson will become the new Ports of Stockholm Managing Director. Johan Castwall, the incumbent Ports of Stockholm Managing Director, will become Executive Director of the City of Stockholm Development Administration, Exploateringskontoret, where he will work with the development of the city over a broader perspective.

Johan Castwall, the incumbent Ports of Stockholm Managing Director will leave his current position to take up the post of Executive Director of the City of Stockholm Development Administration, Exploateringskontoret. The Stockholms Hamn AB Board of Directors has therefore appointed Thomas Andersson, the incumbent Stockholms Stadshus AB Deputy Managing Director, as the new Ports of Stockholm Managing Director.

Thomas Andersson has prior experience within the construction sector, commerce and the tourism industry, in addition to his City of Stockholm management experience. His most recent position was Stockholms Stadshus AB Deputy Managing Director, and prior to that he was Visit Stockholm Managing Director.

“Ports of Stockholm is a key player in a growing region, and I am really looking forward to the opportunity to become integrally involved in the business of the company and part of the development of the maritime city of Stockholm,” says Thomas Andersson.

Johan Castwall has led the work of implementing major port investment projects and has driven infrastructure and societal development matters during his period as Ports of Stockholm Managing Director.

“The task of working within the Exploateringskontoret organisation with the development of the city from an even broader perspective feels challenging and exciting. At the same time my seven years with Ports of Stockholm have been fantastic,” says Johan Castwall.

Thomas Andersson and Johan Castwall will both begin their new appointments on 1st December 2018.
