    The port security team

    Following the terror attacks in the USA on 11 September 2001 security measures have changed at all of the world's ports. The same is true for Ports of Stockholm. More intensive collaboration between different port departments has increased safety and security for the commercial services operating from the ports and for passengers.

    On Friday 5 June 2015 the cruise ship Britannia headed to Stadsgården. With her length of 330 meters she is the largest vessel ever to have called at Port of Stockholm.

    On 4 June Ports of Stockholm was awarded second prize by the international organisation IAPH, International Association of Ports and Harbors for its work with social media. This is the second year running that Ports of Stockholm has been awarded second place in the IAPH competition.

    Ports of Stockholm is one of the world's leading ports at caring for the environment. There are capabilities to manage practically all waste. Seven out of ten cruise ships offload their waste water in port, while many others purify this themselves aboard the vessel.

    The 2015 cruise season begins on Thursday 30 April with the arrival of the cruise liner the Costa Pacifica. During the season it is expected that 500 000 cruise passengers will visit Stockholm and will spend SEK 0.5 billion.
